Another Mother's Day Card

Good morning! Today I'm back to share with you another Mother's Day Card.  I would say my card is perhaps not what you would typically see in a Mother's Day card.....I guess it would depend on your mother!!
Visit my blog for a complete description of the creating process.

I can't count the ways I love Mom!

Here is a simple idea for a card to count the ways you love your Mom :-)
I made it with some digital files, but you can use the idea to use any embellishments you have. I hope it inspires you to keep it simple, and use embellishments to tie your designs together.... When I make this card, it will have this phrase inside.... I can't count the ways I love you... I love you so much!

The M was type written in with the font: GoudyHvyface Cn Bt.
The number heart is from Silhouette: heart with numbers
The heart ribbon border must be a discontinued pattern, as I searched for it every which way in my Sihouette Studio and couldn't find it... you could replicate it by even using fine ribbon and gluing it onto the card front in a pattern (would really add neat texture IMHO!).

I've got to apologize.... the background is supposed to be white... and it is when I saved it as a picture, but when I put it into the blog post it is a pale mauve.... will have to figure out that later! I hope the card inspires you though!

Happy Mother's Day!

Good Morning Everyone!

So sorry for the late post this morning.  Our power and Internet went out yesterday and then we woke up to problems with the Internet again this morning!  Luckily it looks to be finally working again.

I chose a Mother's Day theme for my post today since Mother's Day is almost here.

I chose colors that were a little more "neutral" for my card this morning.  Not every mother loves bright, bright colors like I do!  For more details on my card, please stop by my blog, Love 2 Create, by clicking here.

What are you making for your mother (or grandmother, or mother-in-law, or sister, etc.) this year?  Link up your projects below and you may win this month's giveaway!

Thanks so much for stopping by - have a wonderfully crafty day!

MOTHER

Hi everyone!  I'm happy to be here, with you, to close out our week of Mother's Day inspirations.  My own inspiration came from a stamp I've been wanting to use for awhile.  I hope my card gives you some ideas for your own Mother's Day card making.

I would love to have you visit me at Creative Genie-ous to see the full card.  Cindy Foster will be here, tomorrow, to introduce our final theme for this month.  You're going to love this because it's Your Choice.  Yes, you can create any kind of card you like for the rest of this month to enter into our April challenge.  We'd love to have you play along with us!

Hugs to all!
Christine

Mom day - bluebird of happiness

This is a Mom's Day Card my son and I worked on together. It says inside. "Mom you are my blue bird of happiness." I love cuttlebug plates. And my son helped me pull this together. He's so fun to have in the studio with me.The goal for him was to find some way to use the Gelly Roll pens that are glitter that I have. He loves to use them. I have had them for years and am still surprised they haven't quit or gummed up. So he pondered this totally white card while I worked on something else and then said hey lets color the birds blue. And then sat and stared at my jars of embellishments. Easy to find something when they are sorted by color. He picked the pink bow that matched the ribbon I had already placed out to use.  Love the creative process.
Thank you for stopping by!
Enjoy!
Chris

Tomorrow stop by and see Christine Patton's post  for more inspiration!

Mother's Day - Relax

Darla here with a 2 one layer cards for you today (meaning this is all done on the card base with nothing other than the ribbon added).

I think I am going through a phase of no sentiment cards or something as I can honestly say I have not stamped a sentiment on a card front (with the exception of some designs I was doing of Michelle's from our joint card class) in well over a month.

I can't tell you which card is for who (mother, step-mother or mother-in-law) as they all read my blog and I want it to be a "little" bit of a surprise at least. ;) Here are 2 of the cards I made for them though:

Mother’s Day

This past weekend I was camping to celebrate my birthday. Had a wonderful time, but knew I had to do this card for the Card a Day Blog. I thought it would be a great opportunity to remind everyone that you can do a neat card with just a few items…. that and the fact I did not have a lot of room to pack lots of crafting stuff!
I made this card with a white piece of cardstock, approximately a 5 inch square piece of colored cardstock, silver felt pens, and some dimensional glue (colored) that I had, as well as a regular gel ink pen.  The phrase I wrote on the background was “the ribbons of your love encircle my heart”. It was an anonymous phrase I got off of  quotegarden.com… and only now I realize that I did the quote wrong! It was supposed to be “the ribbons of your love are woven around my heart”!  Oh well, the meaning to me is the same.
The tag was cut out of a piece of white cardstock (I used a box to help make the template), then decorated with silver markers, glue and regular pen… glued on top of the written card base - simple!
Enjoy, and remember to challenge yourself to do a card with less, not more!

Now that I'm back from camping, visit my blog at Gardens Crafts 'n' More to see what else I've been up too! I know I'm going to be posting another card in a week, and lots of garden pictures to inspire you!

Plan B

Oh my, I can’t believe we’re just about halfway through April already!!  We’re getting a jump on Mother’s Day cards this week and will be bringing you lots of inspiration.

This is Vicki from PAPER SQUIRREL and I'm kicking off our Mother's Day theme with this card that I made for my soon-to-be mother-in-law.  I’ve had these pieces and parts laying on my craft table for MONTHS…planned for a whole other project.  But I thought to myself:  obviously I’m not too captivated by said planned project, or I would have made it by now!  So I made this card instead....plan B.

I can't wait to see what Shelley Bordeleau has in store for us tomorrow!

Vintage Mother's Day Card

Hello!  It's Cindy from The Creative Pointe back again to share this vintage looking card I made for my own Mom.  I'm so blessed to have her still with me, crafting away!  She is an amazing quilter and has gotten into card making herself recently...doing paper embroidery and iris folding.  Now we just have to get her on the internet!  Anyway, I hope you'll click over to my blog for all the card details, including a few tips.  You'll also find the supply list there.

Be sure to stop back tomorrow as I'm sure Vicki will have an amazing card to share!

Take Time to create a Mother's Day Masterpiece

Mothers Day is around the corner! Start now and enjoy the process!

This card is simple yet elegant. Taking from two Japanese traditions, Suminagashi (Japanese paper marbling) and ikebana (flower arranging)

This is the simple version without texture.

Other versions and information about how to create this card and the others can be found on my blog. I also explore a fun little technique called Suminagashi that floats paints on water. Below is a thumbnail showing one of the papers I have created. More on my blog!

Be sure to stop by tomorrow for a new card! I hope you have been inspired to try a new technique.

Have a great day!

Laury
