The Last Minute Thank You Card

Hi There! It's Jan from Sam & Hailey Designs, and I have a question for you:

What do you do when you need a last minute card? Turn to your stash!

I consider myself an expert on "last minute." It seems like everything I do these days is last minute. Maybe what I really am an expert in is procrastination!

Here's what I created for today's Thank You Card post here on Card-A-Day:

The card base is from a set of flip-flop cards in my stash. It only took me a few minutes to cut and put together the original card back when it went in my stash. Then it only took a few minutes to dress it up, ready for giving!

Want to read more about this card and my suggestions for interesting all-purpose cards to have in your stash? Check out my blog today!

Greetings! December 30th

When I saw Jan Bryson’s photo, I smiled. I have some favorite ornaments that I take pictures of every year!

Here is the story behind the picture of her ornament!

My parents have a tradition that we have carried over to our marriage.  Their first Christmas together as a married couple they bought (or received as a gift, not sure) a pair of stuffed animal puppies with Christmas hats on.  Every year they go under the tree (even today) and keep watch over the presents.  I loved those Christmas Puppies when I was a kid.  It made me feel so connected to the past.  Victor and I also have a pair of Christmas Puppies that go under our tree. I think they were from Hallmark. They have little magnets in their noses that make them kiss. Awwwwwww.... Whenever I see them, I think of my parents and the Christmases of my childhood.  In our house, the doggies have to hang out up on the tree with the ornaments.  That way they don't get eaten by our actual dog, AKA The Christmas Bandit.

Jan also sent in a wonderful word art inspiration for us! I can see using it as a bookmark, or along the edge of a card! Thanks Jan!!!!

Come back tomorrow for another designer’s tree and sentiment! And remember, we will be returning January 2nd, 2012 with more daily card making ideas!

You are one of my favorite things!

Merry Christmas, Everyone! It's Jan, here, from Sam & Hailey Designs. I hope this time of year isn't too crazy for you. I'm always crazy, but this time of year, more so.

I thought you might enjoy a project idea today that you could use for both a card and a gift. I made a jumbo card that's just the right size to fit in an 8"x10" frame. You can read more about and also download my Samantha - Favorite Things Digital Stamp on my blog, Sam & Hailey Designs. The freebie is only available for a limited time, so don't miss out!

Don't forget to come back tomorrow and check out what Jill Figley has in store for you!

Lollipop and Gingerbread Man Christmas Card Shapers

Hi Everyone! I'm thrilled to be here with you on Card A Day! My name is Jan Bryson and I'm the graphic artist behind Sam & Hailey Designs.

I had a hard time narrowing down my card ideas this week to just one card to post today. I finally decided to share both with you! Think of it as two for the price of one!

I used Baker's Twine to make the swirly on the lollipop and the pompoms on the gingerbread man. The little bow was tied on a fork!

If you'd like to learn how to make these yourself, just hop on over to the Sam & Hailey Designs blog.

There is also a free downloadable cutting file {available in AI, GSD, KNK, MTC, SVG and WPC formats} to make the Lollipop Christmas Card Shapers card! Yay!

I sure hope you have been inspired today and all week long! Be sure to stop in tomorrow to see what delicious inspiration Cindy Foster has for you.

Also be sure to check out the current Challenges and join in the fun and have a chance to win a great prize!
