Just Ducky!

Hi Everyone!  So glad to have you join us today.  I'm here for the next to last day of our theme "Thinking of You."  I wanted something that looked like spring, and would be easy and look cute at the same time.  I hope you'll check out Creative Genie-ous to see how my card was made and learn where I found this adorable image.

There's only one more day after today to get into our challenge this month.  So, get those cards in for a chance to win this month's prize.  We have a new group of themes for you starting on Monday -- no April-Foolin'!

Come and spend a few minutes with Vicki Schram tomorrow, if you can.  I know she'll be happy to see you!  Wishing a Happy and Blessed Easter to those of you who celebrate!!!

Thinking of you

Here is an inspiration for a sympathy card… just a simple sentiment (Thinking of you, or In Sympathy) on a layered frame, anchored to a card front with a flower.
The card base is  3 x 5 inches, in a deep purple (almost velvet looking), the tag is actually scrap from a tag I had cut… I glued the paper left (with the frame “hole”) onto a blue piece of cardstock, and then cut it out, leaving approx. an 1/8 inch white border. I put a gloss finish on the layered frame before I wrote the sentiment, to make it stand out – it almost looks enameled. The flower is one of the flowers I bought that I mentioned about in my “Just Because” card. Everything else on the card has a mat finish, so I’m really happy with the effect.
I think it would be wonderful to pick the favorite flower of the person you intend to give it to, or the favorite flower of the person you are grieving for. Just an example I hope of how simple is best.

Thinking of you

Darla back here with you again today. The theme this week on the blog is "Thinking of you". Unfortunately I have had to make one of these very recently as a very good friend and mentor to me has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. She hadn't met with the surgeon yet when I made this card for her although she has now and goes for her surgery April 4. All positive thoughts, prayers etc would be very much appreciated.

A little birdie....

Today's theme is congratulations. The outside of this card reads... a little birdie told me .. and the inside reads ... congrats are in order.

I had to take this picture outside because the birds are chirping and the sun is shining. Yeah! Love our sun in Arizona.
Have a wonderful day!
Enjoy!

You're GREAT

It's Darla here from Caution: Crafting is Contagious with a  congratulations card I did for a friend of mine who just got a new job as the manager of the gardening center at the local hardware store. It may not seem like a big deal to some but she took courses on horticulture and was unable to get a job in her field with the economy in its current state so although this isn't really what she had in mind or where she hopes to end up it's a step in the right direction and she has done such a fantastic job with her studies that it truly deserves some recognition.

To see the details of this card as well as another card that this one was the inspiration for go on over to my blog post here.

A Chinese Easter

I was really thinking outside of the box when I created this card…. actually, I was thinking of the first piece of jewelry my husband bought me, a Chinese symbol for long life. Then I thought of what we get out of the true meaning of Easter, and came up with this…. Love - Courage - Strength
I hope you like it.

Painted Easter

We're kicking off a week of Easter cards and I've been playing with paint!

Hi all, it's Vicki from Paper Squirrel!  I admit, I love all things Tim Holtz, and though I'm sure his new Distress Paints are magical, I thought I'd see what I could do with my abandoned rack full of ordinary, non-Tim paints. Visit PAPER SQUIRREL for a full tutorial (with lots more photos) on how I used acrylic paints to create my Easter card.

Be sure to check back tomorrow to see Jill Figley's Easter inspiration.

baby time!

Hi Everyone!  It's Christine, here, stepping in for Chris Durnan who is not feeling well just now.  (FEEL BETTER SOON CHRIS!)  I have a cute baby card for you; it's one that can be used for girls and boys.  It can also be adapted for many occasions.

I actually made this card using my sister's supplies so I can't really give you much in the way of details.  The base is a cream-colored cardstock cut to A2 size.  The front was stamped with a pretty flourish stamp, and then a design paper scrap was added.  The other elements were all made with scraps as well; punched, Cuttlebugged and layered.

Thanks for stopping in today!  Hope you'll come back tomorrow for even more 'Baby' inspiration.

Little Works of Art

Welcome Back! It's Laury again.
I love mixing it up. This card borrows from printmaking, scrapbooking and general marker work. If that sounds interesting, hop on over to my blog for more details. Projects of this nature fall under the catagory of little works of art. They can be mounted on a card or framed or both... Each print is different and with a little embellishment you can bring out the uniqueness of the print. When I was done I finished up with a couple of spritzes from Ranger Perfect Pearls Mists; Perfect Pearl. This mist has no color just some nice sparkle. Love it!

Hope you were inspired to try something new! Until next time.
Be sure to stop back tomorrow for more inspiration.
