Good Morning Everyone!
Didn't you just love yesterday's card made by Tina?
Today I have another "Get Well" card for you. I've been wanting to make a folded card for sometime and thought this would be as good a time as any!
This card folds up into a 3" x 4 1/2" card and so would fit into an A2 envelope. I had a lot of fun making it. For more details on how I made my card, please visit my blog at Love 2 Create.
Can't wait to see what you have made for this challenge!
Have a wonderfully crafty day!

Scraps to Card
Welcome Back
I have a question for you. What do you do with your scraps?
The other day I was spraying a die cut and an amazing thing happened. The paper under the die cut came out better than the die cut! It was an odd shape... I tried to enlarge the shape but the new section turned out darker. What to do.
I decided to to add one stamped image that I cut out and raised on foam pads. I first stamped the bird (Hero Arts H5580) in grey Memento ink and then used my Copic markers to color it. I used a white gell pen to highlight areas of the bird's wings and tail. I then re-stamped the bird with black Memento ink. Finally I added a little bronze metallic paint to match the card base. I used Tsukineko All Purpose paint number 73, Bright Copper.
On the inside of the card there were some brown stains that bled through from the front. I decided to outline the stains in a thin black marker and to connect everything, I stamped Hero Arts S5433 Large Canvas Stripes in brown over everything.
The shape of the card was still not standard, so I decided to add a few pages to the inside and do a simple binding with the purple linen cord. The pages could be used for a family newsletter or to tell a simple story. Add pictures.....
I was still left with that dark part of the scrap paper. I stamped another bird and over stamped the linen stripes. I then colored the bird and re-stamped. I mounted the whole thing on the bronze metallic scrap paper and trimmed the edges. I then used the trimmed piece to further decorate the card. I am not really good with words, so I tend to add visual elements.
Well I hope you feel inspired to take a look at your scrap pile. And by the way, I have still not used the original die cut....
Stop back tomorrow for further inspiration
Enjoy

Thank You
I am new to the Card A Day Blog and had originally thought I would make a fabulously intricate and detailed card for my first post here but when I saw the theme "Thanks" I knew exactly what I wanted to share and it is the complete opposite of intricately detailed and time consuming.
I made 200 of these for our Cancer Center to have in the "Sunshine Room". For more details please visit my blog here.

A Sweet Little Thank You
Welcome Back! Today's card is a little flowered thank you. A thank you card can really be anything, the important part of the card is what you write.
I put together a little video to show how this card was made. The lattice work and coloring on the flower was done using Copic markers. The flower is glued only in the center and the petals are gently curved to give a 3 dimensional look. The outer border was done using a gold gelly pen.

Valentine's Day Card (for boys)
I am surrounded by my guys and although they appreciate my craftiness ... a pink Vday card is just so not "guy". And is met with comments of .. "oh how cute" and slight eye roll from my son. So with my guys. Simple and not Pink works the best.
So here is my Card a Day post. I cut this file on my KNKmaxx and then backed it with paper and a complimentary paper for the I heart U. And then I lifted the few hearts that were cut to lift. Giving them a raised look.
For more information stop by my blog... Visual Designs by Chris
and it's Friday. I usually offer up a freebie on a Friday. I just love the weekend!
Enjoy!

I Heart You
Good Morning!
Today at Card-a-Day blog, we are celebrating Valentine's Day! To get ready for Valentine's Day, I made a card for my hubby of 11 1/2 years. Here are a couple of pictures:
The little owls are actually on little Adhesive Springs which is why you can see a little shadow in the back. I just couldn't get a good picture of them wobbling around - you'll just have to trust me that they wobble.
Have you started making your Valentine's Day cards yet? Who are you creating for this year? Can't wait to see what you are making!
For more details on how I made my first Valentine's Card of the season, please check out my blog by clicking here. Enter our challenge by clicking on the link below and adding your cards -- link up crafters!

Valentine for the sweetie
Hi there. This is Chris Durnan. I hope the new year is really moving you and inspiring you for another great year of crafting. As is the norm for me, I like to highlight others and what they have done with my files. Especially my Creative Team Ladies... Here is a card created by Angie. Such a cute Valentine.
Below are Angie's notes on what she did to create this file...
Tonight I created a Valentine for my sweetie using the Heart Jumble #CD00308. I have loved this file from day one and have used bits and pieces of it on various projects. Love the shape of those hearts! I cut a file so that it opened up instead of sideways. I ran it through my Cuttlebug using a Tim Holtz embossing folder. I placed the cut out on the card ..... For more info on the steps to complete this cute card or make your own similar card... please visit my Creative Team Blog. HERE Enjoy! Chris Visual Designs by Chris Stop by tomorrow and see... Jill Figley's inspiration. Can't wait! |
