We are off for the Summer a hiatus for all the designers and we will be back in September with more cards and monthly challenges.
Thank you for your support and you just might be surprised with a card now and then over the summer, but the challenges will resume in September.
The last week has reminded me how busy and hectic the coming holiday season can be. I wanted to make a simple card that would remind me to "simply celebrate"!
To see what I used to make the card, and a neat tip, visit my blog at Gardens Crafts 'n' More!
Remember to come back tomorrow to see more inspiration from Patricia Logan, and a new theme - Christmas and Children!
Hi there everyone. I hope you all are having a great holiday season so far. Here is my card that I created for our theme for this week, Celebrating Christmas.
If you'd like to see how I made my card, just click on over to my blog, Created By Jill, and check it out. Tomorrow, make sure you come back to check out what Shelly Bordeleau has made for us to see. Thank you so much for stopping by, and make sure to check out the monthly challenge that we have. You might just win a nice prize!
The holidays are always a time for celebration...family, friends, the season itself. With that in mind, Kelly George designed today's card with all the frosty sparkle this season brings and puts us all in the mood to "Celebrate the Season." For all the details on this card, please visit the Sassy Scrapper Studio.
This week we are focusing of the Celebration of Christmas.
For me that always starts with "The Reason for the Season" and that is Christ, his birth and his sacrifice.
I chose reds and greens to represent the blood and everlasting life. The cross is based on Celtic knot work and reminds me of St. Patrick who preserved the faith! The cross and the holly are detachable and can be used as a paper ornament. The inner message reflects the meaning of Christmas.
Is everyone having a good time with all your Christmas shopping? Did you hit the stores for any of the Black Friday sales? NOT ME!!! Nope, not no way, not no how! But I did have some fun making this cute card to wind down our Christmas Shopping theme for this week. I tried to keep it simple, but you can visit me at Creative Genie-ous to check out the details.
We have a new theme starting tomorrow! Come back and see what Laury has to inspire your 'Christmas Celebration.'
Sometimes you have to dig in deep and use up those scraps! lately, I have been promising myself I would not buy new papers until I go through my scrap bins and get those piles down to half their size. let me tell you, that means I could be making cards every day for a full year using my scraps before I allow myself to buy new paper! Yes, my scraps piles are THAT large!
I store my scraps in plastic carts, and separate by color groups and then holiday, specialty (like vellum, flocked paper, mirror paper, etc), pattern, stripes (I use a lot of stripes!) Anyway, we'll see if I can bring the pile of scraps to a more reasonable level!
This stamped image was fun to color....and I found some great scraps in my stash to go with her!
A couple of years ago, I did a video about how to do the Out of Bounds Technique using Nestabilities....here is that video, which you may find helpful!
So, while I was making my cards a couple years ago, I was using glitter, and I thought, hmmm, wonder if anyone has shown the difference of using glitter on a colored background compared to using it on a plain white background.....
So, that's what I did! I MADE THIS VIDEO (CLICK TO VIEW) of the colored glitter used on a colored stamp, and the same colored glitter used on the same stamped image that has not been colored! It's amazing what a difference you can get in the results!
Basically, you would apply the glitter to your smallest section first (do one color at a time)
Then, pour your glitter onto the project, where it will set in on the sticky parts only! Then, take your glue pen, and color in your next part....and then pour your glitter on, and it will set in that second part...
Tap off your glitter again....and taking your glue pen, fill in the next section with glue....
Sprinkle your glitter over it, and tap it off when you are done!
Continue this until you have covered all of your parts with the glitter.
The picture really doesn't do it justice, up close, the finished product has a really nice "bling" to it!
Here is the finished item on my card! Stamp is from C.C. Designs, Cookie Crumbs: Reason for the Season. I used my Copics to color the stamped image, stamped with my Memento Ink. SEI Patterned paper, Colormates plain paper, and ribbon by SEI. I cut the stamped image out using Nestibilities on my Cuttlebug.
Make sure you check back tomorrow, as Adele from Nogard's Creative Cave will have a great new project to share!
also....don't forget to take part in our challenge and get entered in to win a prize!!
I just want to spend the last moment thanking everyone for visiting this blog these last few months! We are hoping it has been an inspiration to you, and look forward to finishing up the year with some great holiday cards for you to enjoy!

I hope you've been enjoying this week of CADB Christmas Around the World offerings. So sad to say that today brings you to your final stop on the tour, but it will be fun for you.
I come from both Polish and Mexican/Spanish ancestry, and so I wanted to bring you something that represents one of those. I chose the Mexican/Spanish because I had already decided on the stamp I wanted to use for my card, and it was perfect for the custom I wanted to tell you about. Please go to Creative Genie-ous where you can read all about the custom and the creative process used in building my card.
Thanks so much for visiting today. Tomorrow begins a new week and a new theme. I hope you'll join Tina Campbell as she begins our Christmas Shopping adventures!
Hello, I'm Cindy Pointe from The Creative Pointe and I'll be your travel guide today as our
"Christmas Around the World" theme takes us to merry olde England!
I'm a big English Bulldog lover and just had to incorporate one of my many bully stamps into a Christmas card. If you'd like to get all the design details, a design tip and a free Big Ben SVG file, just hop on over to my BLOG. Be sure to come back tomorrow as designer Christine Patton will continue you on your journey. Cheerio!
I mulled quite a bit about what to make, and ended up making a “reason for the
season” card, that I hope you like!
I have a few people on my list who like
traditional cards. Whenever I think of Christmas, I think of the nativity, the
calm peace you feel on a chilly winter night, and my favorite Christmas carol
"Silent Night". I tried to make a card that was traditional, and made me think
of those things too. Enjoy!
For all the details on how I made this card, hop on over to my blog at Gardens Crafts 'n More!
Make sure to visit tomorrow for some more great inspiration from Cindy Foster!
Also be sure to check out this month's Challenges, and join in the fun and have a chance to win a great prize! We like being inspired by you too!
Hi! I am Laury Vaden. I design under the name Just Laury at www.paperthreads.com. I am such a nervous Nelly. I have agonized over what I should do for my first post. So much so that I created not 1 card but 6.... But an interesting technique came out of it all which I describe on my blog. The other cards are also posted there.
My goal for this post was to use materials that are easily available at a local craft store: Cuttlebug Embossing folder, Martha Stewart clear stamp collection, Distress Inks, Momento Ink, Liner pen, Nesties, Markers, and white gel pen. The only supply that is a little different is Gilders Paste (Inca Gold) that was used to ink the edges and some of the raised sections of the embossing folder. Also I used some thick gold thread to tie up the card front.
My daughter's favorite was the above card. This one also uses the same stamping technique as the first card. I also used one of my new stencil designs. A pallet knife was used to spread Golden's Molding Paste in the stencil. The raised area was then gilded using Inca Gold Gilder's Paste. The molding paste looks a lot like embossing but can be used with any stencil.
So which card do you like best? Just curious.
I sure hope you have been inspired today and all
week long! Be sure to stop in tomorrow to see what exciting
inspirations Shelley Bordeleau has for you.

Hi everyone! Vicki Schram here kicking off this week's theme...Christmas Around the World!
I'm honoring my German ancestry with today's "O Tannenbaum" card. Did you know that the Christmas Tree, or Tannenbaum, originated in Germany in the 16th century and gradually spread to most of Europe and North America by the early 19th century? And now, it's one of our favorite symbols of the season!
Come visit me at PAPER SQUIRREL to view more photos and get all the details and supply list for this card.
Thanks for visiting Card A Day Blog today! Be sure to check back tomorrow to see what inspiration designer Laury Vaden has in store for Christmas Around the World.

Hi Everyone! I'm thrilled to be here with you on Card A Day! My name is Jan Bryson and I'm the graphic artist behind Sam & Hailey Designs.
I had a hard time narrowing down my card ideas this week to just one card to post today. I finally decided to share both with you! Think of it as two for the price of one!
I used Baker's Twine to make the swirly on the lollipop and the pompoms on the gingerbread man. The little bow was tied on a fork!
There is also a free downloadable cutting file {available in AI, GSD, KNK, MTC, SVG and WPC formats} to make the Lollipop Christmas Card Shapers card! Yay!
I sure hope you have been inspired today and all week long! Be sure to stop in tomorrow to see what delicious inspiration Cindy Foster has for you.
Also be sure to check out the current Challenges and join in the fun and have a chance to win a great prize!

We didn't have a fireplace in the house where I grew up, and I always wondered how Santa could ever find us. It just didn't seem right that he had to ring the doorbell, and come in through the front door. So I knew that I had to have a fireplace in my house someday, and yes, my current home as well as my previous one have fireplaces.
I think it's been a fun week here at CADB, with our designers sharing some of their stories about their Christmas memories of home. When I knew I had a card due this week, it was obvious to me exactly what I wanted to do. Please check my blog, Creative Genie-ous for the details.
Thanks so much for coming by today. Our next designer is Diana Weber. She's starting a new theme tomorrow, Christmas FOOD. It should be lots of fun, so be sure to check in.

Tricia Logan is here with another card. This time the card is made with the Cricut Imagine machine, but you can make this card with any die-cutting machine or no machine at all. it is just that simple. this card reminds the snow I saw both as a child and an adult. I did not see my first snow until I was 4 years old in the Big Bear mountains in San Bernadino, Ca. Westerners do not get to see much snow, and when they do, it is usually in the mountains. Well, I have not been a Westerner for 40 sometime years, so i am used to the snow by now. You can see how I made this card at my Blog, MDN Creates.
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to stop back tomorrow and see what Christine of Creative Genie-ous has created.

Wasn't Shelley's card yesterday fantastic! Tina Campbell with you today and the theme this week is Christmas at Home. One of my favorite memories growing up at home was helping Mom decorate the Christmas tree. My brothers, my sister and I would help by adding the decorations after the tree was up and the lights were on. Mom would put the tree up shortly after Thanksgiving and it would stay during New Year's. So this card is in her memory:
