Card A Day - Teens

What makes a teenage girl giggle? What about color and bling, at least that is what I think. This week is teen cards and my creation is a hip, hip, hooray, birthday card.

Cool summer colors and a fabric flower added to a fabric covered card is my version of a teen girl card.

Teen Birthday Card

Hi everyone, Vicki from Paper Squirrel, here kicking off a new theme for this week...TEENS.  Yep, anything teen-related is welcome in the challenge.  I created this fun birthday card for my nephew's last teen birthday...he'll be 19 this week!

The blue, red, gold primary  color palette is youthful, yet masculine and the fun patterned paper and quotation background stamp said "teen" to me.

Designer Lucy Kelleher will be continuing the "teen" theme tomorrow, so be sure to visit again!

Just Because - Thinking of you Owl

Sussann, from the VDBC Creative Team, recently had some bumps with her computer and digital cutter. I am super happy to see she has it back in gear and working again.

This was her most recent card and it fits well with the Just Because theme of this week.

This is what Sussann had to say about her project.

"How cute is this owl?! This is part of a cutter file that was included in Chris Durnan's Quarterly Membership Club. I cut him out, pin-stitched and chalked the edges. I layered him on a torn and inked piece of patterned paper. I stamped the Thinkin' of you! sentiment on a torn, inked piece of cardstock and pop-dotted it on the card."

I really could never make it all happen without the VDBC creative team and awesome forum members.

I used this weeks sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog and put this together in no time. I let the patterned paper do all the work for this one. :)

Saw this in our gallery at VDBC and the colors popped and made me smile. I hope it inspires you to find a friend to send a card to. There is nothing like opening up a mailbox and seeing a card for you and especially from a friend!
