An Asian Touch

Join our February challenge!

Welcome Back! It's Laury again from justlaury at paperthreads.com. Today's theme is Wedding Invitation. This is a simple card but I love the lacy feel.

The dahlia design comes from Paper Source's Mum Outline Flo no. 871485. I stamped the design on a light piece of paper using black ink. I then took a picture of it and brought it into Make-The-Cut design software to create vector cutlines. I had to clean it up a bit but not much. I split the design in half and attached it to a rectangle. The card is cut from cover stock. I think that a velour paper would make an awesome cover.

Another variation for this card would be to use a simple rectangle for the invite and then use the cut piece for the RSVP and information part of the invite. The card could also be closed with a ribbon or a strip of handmade Japanese paper. A note, if you do use a specialty paper, be sure to match your other papers to it.

So, consider your stamp collection, do you have any that could be turned into cut files? If you plan to sell the cards or designs, then make sure you understand the copyright and licensing  issues pertaining to the stamp.

Well that is all for today, do stop by tomorrow for more inspiration.

Until next time,
Laury
