Spring Bird
This card is very simple to make, yet if you pair the picture with the embossing it makes a nice statement. I used a old stamp I had from the Angel Company, colored it with Prisma pencils and put a nice scallop in a darker color around it. Since it was a bird in a tree, the leaves embossing template was a perfect match, I used Color Core cardstock and sanded it, so the lighter core would show through, matted it with the same shade of green I used for the circle/picture and tied a ribbon that matched around it. I like to put the straight ribbon around the card, then cut another piece and tie it onto the ribbon on the card, that way I get a smoother straighter knot.
I hope you enjoyed this card.

Spring Flowers and Spring Cleaning ...
Today I am featuring a Spring Cleaning - Spring Flowers kinda card!
My last post covered Suminagashi paper. Well... I now have a supply of some fun scraps so the challenge for me was to use some of these scraps and clean out some others.
Martha Stewart makes some fun generic punches that go together. For this card I went through my Suminagashi paper stash and punched away....
Stop back tomorrow for a new card from Shelley!
Until next time,

Reach for the Stars
Today card is brought to you by the letters P and L, as in Patricia Logan. I threw in the short commercial in honor of Sesame Street, because it is does not matter if your child having their first graduation at 4 or at 24, always encourage them to reach for the stars. This is again a simple card, and I wanted to show you how simple it is to just grab a card blank, an embellishment pack from any company, and in 10 mins you will have a fun simply card that any grad would love. You can see how to make it over at my blog, MDN Creates. You can also enter your card in the challenge below. Come back tomorrow to see Cindy Pointe's graduation card.

2012 GRAD
I'm really loving the grad cards we're having this week. I hope you are, too. I have a really quick card, but it gives lots of impact. Mine was made for a male college grad, but with a little embellishing can be made for a young lady as well. Come visit me, Christine, at Creative Genie-ous where you can get the info on making this card.

A Fan for Mom
Supplies Used:
3 sheets of 12 x 12 Kraft cardstock (one for the blank card, one for the die cut, and one patterned for the matting)
Pearl by Martha Stewart.
Cartridge: Cricut Pagoda Cartridge
This is a super simply card for people are just getting started with their Cricut machines, but any die cutting machine will work for this card. I sized up one of the pieces of cardstock and cut it down to 4" x 12 sheet, folded it in half. Next I cut the next sheet, which was a 12 x 12 sheet patterned kraft paper to 4 1/4 x 5 1/4 (I was off a little with this card-sorry). Laid it aside, and I cut out a fan from the Pagoda Cricut Cartridge at 3" in shadow mode. if you do not have a fan, the machine or the cartridge, use whatever machine you have, or if you are not going for that mono-look, you can also put a 3-d sticker in its place. just be sure to get one that is the right size. No sentiment on this card, but it can be optional. Pearl is also optional

Vintage Mother's Day Card
Hello! It's Cindy from The Creative Pointe back again to share this vintage looking card I made for my own Mom. I'm so blessed to have her still with me, crafting away! She is an amazing quilter and has gotten into card making herself recently...doing paper embroidery and iris folding. Now we just have to get her on the internet! Anyway, I hope you'll click over to my blog for all the card details, including a few tips. You'll also find the supply list there.
Be sure to stop back tomorrow as I'm sure Vicki will have an amazing card to share!

Take Time to create a Mother's Day Masterpiece
Mothers Day is around the corner! Start now and enjoy the process!
This card is simple yet elegant. Taking from two Japanese traditions, Suminagashi (Japanese paper marbling) and ikebana (flower arranging)
This is the simple version without texture.
Other versions and information about how to create this card and the others can be found on my blog. I also explore a fun little technique called Suminagashi that floats paints on water. Below is a thumbnail showing one of the papers I have created. More on my blog!
Be sure to stop by tomorrow for a new card! I hope you have been inspired to try a new technique.
Have a great day!
